  25. o Digital Recordings released the Digital Function Generator (DFG)
  26. software for NeXT computers.

  28. o The DFG/NeXT combination is a powerful tool for generating arbitrary
  29. sounds of arbitrary complexity and ultimate quality. Since DFG does
  30. not use DSP resources (Motorola 56001 chip), it can run simultaneously
  31. with such applications as the Digital Oscilloscope and Spectrum
  32. Analyzer (both applications come with NeXT).

  34. Therefore, the single DFG/NeXT combination can be used to perform
  35. sophisticated tests and experiments, since it can synthesize and
  36. analyze signals at the same time.The DFG is an ideal signal source for
  37. many applications in the field of acoustics, psychoacoustics, physics,
  38. architecture, audiology, electronics, electroacoustics, vibration
  39. measurements and transducer testing.
