- I am looking for other students, college level, who are interested in
- the area of electronic publishing and information distribution. I am
- interested in starting a nation-wide student organization (staff) whose
- goal would be to publish a monthly periodical, distributed via CD-ROM,
- whose goal would be to increase the exchange of information between the
- students and faculty of as many colleges/universities as possible.
-
- Topics covered will range from local college news to job offerings, from
- industry computer news from NEWSBYTES to student research papers, and
- would of course include articles concentrating on student interests. The
- essence would be to target subjects that college-age students want to
- read about.
-
- MULTIMEDIA - I've done a lot of research into the field of multimedia and
- try to keep up with the latest and greatest trends. I believe that we
- could effectively implement such sounds, graphics, animation, and digital
- video (.avi files) very easily.
-
- COMMUNICATION - How would such a scattered staff maintain efficient
- communication??? Well...I believe you're using something similar to
- read this very note! E-mail and ftp to central sites would allow for
- larger groups at some schools to work on assigned sections.
-
- THIS IS A ROUGH SKETCH - Remember, this is just an idea, made to be
- modified, and ready to be shaped and molded. I hope that some of you
- out there are creative enough and ambitious enough to be interested.
- If so, write me a note via E-mail. DO NOT RESPOND VIA USENET!!!
