- NeoTech ship a video encoder that will convert the Mac RGB
- to PAL, S-Video or NTSC. This is an external encoder that takes the video
- signal and converts it. May need to boot up the VRAM on the Quadra to
- around 1Mb. The down side of the NeoTech is that (in PAL at least) the
- output is only 256 colours, despite millions on board.
- In Australia, FIRMWARE DESIGN are the suppliers, at around $A500 - 600.
-
- There is another box out there, newly released, but I haven't tracked it
- down yet.
-
- We have been using the NeoTech to enable the Mac screen to be beamed out
- via satellite to remote areas, for computer literacy classes.
- Also good for video production. Not the highest quality resolution
- but good enough.
