- It would appear that your mail is going out with an address 'fairgate!user'
- and that your relay is converting this to 'user@fairgate.relay.domain'.

- Guessing (from comments in your message) that you have a Sun,
- you should try the following:

- 1: Use 'sendmail.main.cf'
- 2: Specify 'smartuucp' as your relay mailer.
- 3: Make sure that 'fairgate.com' is your domain. If you have defined
- a NIS domainname of '.fairgate.com' this should be ok. If you have
- an unsuitable NIS domainname, try defining '$m' in your 'sendmail.cf'
- with
- Dmfairgate.com
- Cmfairgate.com

- Note that '$m' is a SunOS addition to sendmail, and may not be supported the
- same way in other versions.
