  16. This isn't email, but you may be able to get a stream of 9600 baud data
  17. out of your cable TV, containing stock quotes, investment house news
  18. blurbs, AP & UPI news stories, weather reports, and other junk.

  20. Call Xpress (1-800-7PC-NEWS) and they'll tell you whether your cable system
  21. carries their service.  There is no monthly fee for the first tier.  All you
  22. need to do is buy their box and software.

  24. I have a Unix daemon eating their feed, saving away quotes for stocks that I
  25. watch and stuffing the news stories into local USENET newsgroups.  I love the
  26. thing; it's great to be able to pop into a newsreader and read "AP Top stories
  27. as of 9am EDT".
