  11. Our course evaluation system currently involves multiple-choice forms
  12. which are filled in by hand, i.e. the student circles a number.
  13. These are then hand-keyed into a terminal.

  15. We'd like to convert to a mark-sense ("ETS test") form, to get the
  16. ratings out faster and more accurately. Given the great scanner
  17. technology available and our relatively low volume, this should be 
  18. fairly easy if we can find the right software package.
  19.  
  20. Does anyone have direct experience with setting up a PC- or Mac-based
  21. OCR program to do mark-sense reading? Or is there a special-purpose
  22. and cheap program out there to do it? Ideally the thing should just
  23. produce a tab- or comma-delimited ASCII file for import into a
  24. spreadsheet or stat package.
