- Actually, having BOTH is nice. I use a "real" fax to receive most
- faxes (it's on a fax switch, shared with voice mail and other
- stuff, and on 24hrs), and to send things already on paper.
- BUT, when you have something in a computer file to send, sending
- it with a fax modem or card is really nice. The quality is better
- for the folks receiving it, since the dot pattern lines up with
- the fax's dot pattern better. I can send long distance faxes
- in standard mode that look better than a fax sent from a paper
- copy with a "real" machine in fine mode, in much less time (=$$!).
- Further, you don't HAVE to print it first, unless you want a paper
- copy yourself.
