- I spoke with the Telebit sales yesterday and got the following
- information regard the FAX option upgrade for current T3000 and WB
- owners:
-
- Telebit will be running a $99 FAX upgrade promotion from December 1
- through December 28th. The price will go to $149 after that. A
- mailing will be sent to all registered T3000 and WB owners in the next
- week.
-
- The FAX will support Group 3 (9600 send/receive) and Class 2 standards.
-
- SOFTWARE NOT INCLUDED. There will be no software included in the $99
- upgrade offer, however, discounts will be available for the following
- FAX software packages (They did not know what the discount prices will be):
-
- DOS: DOSFAX
- Windows: WINFAX
- Macintosh: Quickline
- Unix: Faximum
- IBM OS/360: BlueFax w/ CICS interface
-
- Beyond that, the person at the customer service desk had really very
- little information or expereince since this product is not yet in the
- field.
-
- As people get more information or have experience with this product,
- please post it. One thing I am particulary interested in, which the
- Telebit sales person didn't know, is whether the modem will announce
- CONNECT FAX vs. CONNECT <modem speeds> so I can determine the type of
- incoming data call via software.
