  11. Is it necessary to back up the physical files associated with an
  12. ONLINE db "outside of the environment"?

  14. Consider "raw partitions" as well.

  16. I always thought that backup of physical files was a necessity to
  17. prevent against disk failure - that you would restore your old
  18. files and apply the contents of saved transaction log files against
  19. them to bring them up to date (at least that is how you're supposed
  20. to do it with Oracle).

  22. Does the "Archive" utility in tbmonitor eliminate the need to make copies
  23. of the physical files??
