  18. I like the idea. Here's my vote for it.

  29. Well, anybody can get a feature request number from tech support. I
  30. have a couple. However, I found this to be a very discouraging
  31. experence. A few of my suggestions got lost somewhere along the way.
  32. Other were decided against, but I was never informed. When I did hear
  33. the reasons for the negitive decision, I thought they were a little
  34. weak. It seemed like they didn't really understand my suggestions.

  36. My complaints are that: 1) As far as I can tell, there is no appeal
  37. process. 2) The user community in general is not consulted about their
  38. interest in new features. The end result is that I was pretty much
  39. discourged from submitting feature requests.

  41. Still, I should try and put this into a positive light. Informix execs
  42. made a big deal at the IWUC about wanting to be the source of all
  43. database tool. Maybe it is a good time to try again. Speak up netword.
  44. Get you suggestions in early, and you may be able to affect the design
  45. of 4GL++.
