- Just a couple of comments:

- I chose Revelation in part *because* I needed variable length fields.
- Our database has large amounts of text and even if other database
- environments could handle them (most won't), we would waste an
- incredible amount of space if we were locked into a fixed format.

- Granted that Revelation Tech Support is expensive for the "weekend"
- developer, but the Forum on Compuserve is very active and I've gotten
- a lot of good help there.
