-
- sci.logic.fuzzy is certainly acceptible to me, but is technically not
- accurate. Note that fuzzy theory began as fuzzy SET theory, and became
- fuzzy logic through the mathematical isomorphisms between (common
- lattice structures of) set inclusion and classical logic. The term
- "fuzzy logic" has been popularized by Zadeh to the point of
- faddishness. I'll stress again: fuzzy theory is about INFORMATION, and
- only to the extent that that is about intelligence or logic then there
- is crossover.
-
- But fuzzy THEORISTS (as opposed to the engineers) work in a hybrid
- world involving Dempster-Shafer evidence theory, capacity theory,
- fuzzy and belief measures, possibilistic information, and even (gasp!)
- probability! Part of my program is to proselytize (sp?) about this
- broad world of information theories outside the narrower view of just
- fuzzy, not to mention just fuzzy LOGIC.
-
- So what's wrong with sci.math.fuzzy, or sci.fuzzy?

- Amen.
