- This is a very special case. This is one where there was preassure from a group of
- people to have THEIR particular point of view taken for all points of view. It could
- be that the people of arizona felt that MLK was a significant figure in the world,
- but that there were already TOO many holidays for people to celebrate. There are
- people who believe that Hitler's birthday should be a day for celebration, but I
- don't see them boycotting states that don't recognise this day.

- I think, that in this (the MLK) case, the measure was turned down to show people that
- Arizona won't be bullied by special interests (or the NFL).

- Here at CSU, the ONLY holiday we celebrate is MLK day. People claim that this is
- due to the black school president--mabey?! This however, does express to people
- that certain people's views are more important than others. Perhaps the people
- of Arizona felt like much of the population of CSU--It's better to have NO holidays
- than to decide whose holidays to have!!
