- I think in part that this is one of the best cases of buyer beware that I've
- heard. Anyone purchasing a used car should have it checked by an independent
- mechanic before signing the purchase agreements. Any dealer that does NOT
- allow you to have the car check before purchase is not one to deal with.
-
- This may not catch all the problems, but it does sound like it would have
- gotten the transmission and wiring problems before you bought the car.
- Granted it may cost you $50-100 to do it, but that is alot less than the
- $1200 that you spent to get your car to the state you thought it was in
- to start with. Depending on the dealer and your bargning tactics, you
- might also be able to have the dealer pay for the exam IF anything bad
- turns up. If the car is as solid as he claims it to be, then you should
- pay for the exam for your piece of mind.
