  14. I think in part that this is one of the best cases of buyer beware that I've
  15. heard.  Anyone purchasing a used car should have it checked by an independent
  16. mechanic before signing the purchase agreements.  Any dealer that does NOT
  17. allow you to have the car check before purchase is not one to deal with.

  19. This may not  catch all the problems, but it does sound like it would have
  20. gotten the transmission and wiring problems before you bought the car.
  21. Granted it may cost you $50-100 to do it, but that is alot less than the
  22. $1200 that you spent to get your car to the state you thought it was in
  23. to start with.  Depending on the dealer and your bargning tactics, you
  24. might also be able to have the dealer pay for the exam IF anything bad
  25. turns up.  If the car is as solid as he claims it to be, then you should
  26. pay for the exam for your piece of mind.
