  40. The second  Codes/CASH  workshop  addresses  theoretical aspects, methods, and
  41. tools for hardware/software  codesign.  Hardware/software co-design techniques
  42. aim at the improvement of the development of heterogeneous systems.  The goals
  43. of HW/SW co-design techniques are  the  functional  optimization  of  systems,
  44. optimization of the development process, cost  reduction, and the reduction of
  45. development time.
  46.  
  47. This  workshop  will promote existing approaches and  provide  an  informative
  48. exchange forum to report and learn about current  developments  in  this area.
  49. In  addition,  contacts between research institutes and industrial development
  50. sites will be established.  Future trends and requirements will  be discussed.
  51. Representatives  from industry and academia are encouraged to present research
  52. activities, case studies, and applications.  Areas of interest include but are
  53. not limited to:
  54.  
  55. -  Current (industrial) development processes for heterogeneous systems
  56. -  Future requirements on development processes
  57. -  Hardware/software co-design applications and case studies
  58. -  Heterogeneous  system design,  modeling,  and  simulation  techniques  (and
  59.    languages)     
  60. -  Strategies for delayed hardware/software partitioning
  61. -  Hardware/software interface consistency management
  62. -  Concurrent design management
  63. -  CAD tool support for hardware/software co-design
  64. -  Theoretical aspects of hardware/software co-design
  65.  
  66. The  attendee  contributions  will  lay  the basis of  the  working  sessions.
  67. Authors are asked to submit three copies of an  extended  summary,  along with
  68. three keywords describing the contents of their papers by February 12th, 1993.
  69. To encourage a free exchange of ideas, no proceedings will be published and no
  70. recording devices will be permitted.

  122. discounts for part-time participants.
