- ALLOCATION OF LIMITED ACCESS MANUFACTURING RESOURCES
- PROCESS REVIEW - REQUEST FOR FEEDBACK
-
-
- In March of this year, the Canadian Microelectronics Corporation (CMC)
- introduced, on a trial basis, a silicon allocation review process for limited
- access technologies. The process, details of which can be found in CMC report
- ICI-041: Allocation of Limited Access Manufacturing Resources - CMOS4S
- (available via AIM, Ref# RE0153), is currently being applied to submissions
- for CMOS4S fabrication but is structured to be applicable to any technology
- designated by CMC as "limited access".
-
- A review of the allocation arrangements is scheduled for December, 1992 and
- feedback is being solicited from anyone who has an opinion (positive, negative
- or ambivalent) on the process. We are particularly keen to hear from those
- grad students, researchers or professors, who have either had direct
- experience of the arrangements or who have been dissuaded from applying for
- CMOS4S area because the process was in place. Comments should be received by
- CMC by November 30, 1992 and can be made by e-mail, fax, telephone, mail or in
- person to:

- E-mail: moore@cmc.ca
-
- Feedback is also being sought from the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of
- CMC at its December 7, 1992 meeting. If you are fortunate enough to have
- contact with a member of the TAC (membership listed below) and you: miss the
- November 30 deadline; prefer face-to-face contact with someone when you
- deliver feedback; or are simply hesitant about submitting your comments
- directly to CMC - feel free to grab your TAC contact and pass your feedback on
- to him or her.
-
- Your views can significantly influence the future of the silicon allocation
- review arrangements. This in turn could have considerable impact on research
- activity. Please take the time to make your feelings known.
