  18. Do you honestly think this would work?  There are companies out there
  19. that sell information about people.  Marketing companies want
  20. information like which businesses you call, when you call, etc.
  21. Caller ID gives them a means to get this information.

  24. illegal the phone company would just drop the whole thing.

  34. Not if they also offer a service to reject blocked calls.  Your phone
  35. simply won't ring when someone has caller ID blocked tries to call you.
  36. They get a message saying you don't take annonymous calls.  They can
  37. then decide how bad they want to talk to you.  If they want they can
  38. unblock caller ID and call again.

  40. What is your objection to this system.  You get caller ID and don't
  41. receive any calls from people who block it.  I get to block caller
  42. ID unless I want to talk to someone like you.
