- Super nintendo? $140? Wow, i guess that's the one that comes with extra
- stuff. I wouldn't bother with any system that had a gun with it, there
- aren't that many gun games that justify the extra cost (and having
- another piece of junk to store away).
-
- I think the kids would enjoy a regular nintendo just fine, and that
- should lower your cost considerably. I'm pretty sure you can get used
- nintendos at the pawn shops for $50 or less. At Best Buy, you can get a
- Super Nintendo for $89.96, but you have to pay an extra $12.96 for the
- 2nd controller, and it doesn't come with a cartridge. Cartriges for the
- regular nintendo are on sale at Target this week for 15% off; they say
- reg 19.99-59.99, sale 16.99 - 50.99
-
- Oh, and don't forget how ever long you were going to have your computer
- tied up by the kids, just expect them to tie up you TV for just as long
- (unless you have a special video game TV). I don't think you'll find
- enough cool games for the PC for your kids. PC games are usually pretty
- highbrow, like flight simulators or Sim City type games. I have a
- nintendo, atari 7800, amiga 1000, and a 386, and I play way more games
- on the amiga and nintendo than anything else. The only games I play on
- the 386 are Railroad Tycoon (you build your own rail system) and Mah
- Jong (sp) and other card games.
-
- I think nintendo has a lot more kid level games, and a lot more aracade
- games. My favorites are KLAX and Toobin', but the Mario games are pretty
- fun too. I think your 386 will last longer if you let the kids have a
- nintendo. There are more small kid level games on the regular Nintendo
- than the Super NES, a lot more games at any level actually.
