  26. I second this attitude (hi Greg!), and would extend this to 
  27. many other areas of life, not least of which would be the
  28. ridiculous restrictions a Amaroo Park raceway, which for many
  29. many years was in the middle of the bush at Annangrove, (more
  30. accurately, in the middle of a farming district) and now has
  31. local residents who complain about the noise!! 
  32. Hell, what did they expect, moving next to a racetrack?

  34. And the most stupid thing about the whole affair is the way
  35. the noise nazis measure SPL at the edge of the track, rather 
  36. than the edge of the property.

  38. There are similar restrictions applied to airports, and army
  39. bases, all of which were there before any local residents moved
  40. in (although jets are rather louder than Super Constellations).

  42. (Getting back to the original thread) Anyone moving to Lucas
  43. Heights would have done so knowing full well that there was 
  44. a reactor there. And it isn't as if the effects of radiation 
  45. are a recently discovered phenomenon (not that it's leaking).
