  12.     I have a major bone to pick with someone here!

  14.     What gives *any* of you the right to forward people's postings to
  15. sysops, bosses, SOs or anything else? Just *who* do you think you all
  16. are?

  18.     The person who posted, saying that he had forwarded (or 'reported')
  19. Kane's message to his sysop, is *way* out of line!

  21.     I might add that I had a similar experience several months ago. I
  22. posted to this group from my work account. The post was angry, discouraged
  23. and definitely a core dump.

  25.     The next day, I get e-mail from my boss -- asking me about the post.
  26. A 'concerned citizen' had forwarded it. Well, I was so mad that I could
  27. hardly speak but I can tell you that if I *ever* find out who did it, 
  28. there *will* be a confrontation.

  30.     On another occasion, I volunteered for a hotline. While working
  31. with another woman, I confided in her about something going on in my
  32. life at the time. The next day, I got a call from the director. The 
  33. woman had repeated every bloody word I said! I quit the line on the spot.
  34. I am not looking for that sort of thing. To make it a little more interesting,
  35. I used my position as a newspaper columnist to let others know that the
  36. things said on that line are *not* confidential. I recommended that anyone
  37. calling should be willing to have the content of their conversations 
  38. repeated. Vicious? You betcha! And they had every bit of it coming!

  40.     Frequently, people think they are "helping* by violating the 
  41. confidence of others. It seems to me that simple ethics would state
  42. that unless someone is either dangerous or suicidal, there is no need
  43. for that. Kane's post may be obnoxious -- and rude -- but if you don't 
  44. have the guts to speak to him directly -- just mind your own 
  45. damn business!
