- I have a major bone to pick with someone here!
-
- What gives *any* of you the right to forward people's postings to
- sysops, bosses, SOs or anything else? Just *who* do you think you all
- are?
-
- The person who posted, saying that he had forwarded (or 'reported')
- Kane's message to his sysop, is *way* out of line!
-
- I might add that I had a similar experience several months ago. I
- posted to this group from my work account. The post was angry, discouraged
- and definitely a core dump.
-
- The next day, I get e-mail from my boss -- asking me about the post.
- A 'concerned citizen' had forwarded it. Well, I was so mad that I could
- hardly speak but I can tell you that if I *ever* find out who did it,
- there *will* be a confrontation.
-
- On another occasion, I volunteered for a hotline. While working
- with another woman, I confided in her about something going on in my
- life at the time. The next day, I got a call from the director. The
- woman had repeated every bloody word I said! I quit the line on the spot.
- I am not looking for that sort of thing. To make it a little more interesting,
- I used my position as a newspaper columnist to let others know that the
- things said on that line are *not* confidential. I recommended that anyone
- calling should be willing to have the content of their conversations
- repeated. Vicious? You betcha! And they had every bit of it coming!
-
- Frequently, people think they are "helping* by violating the
- confidence of others. It seems to me that simple ethics would state
- that unless someone is either dangerous or suicidal, there is no need
- for that. Kane's post may be obnoxious -- and rude -- but if you don't
- have the guts to speak to him directly -- just mind your own
- damn business!

- obvious that this group is *not* to be trusted!)
