- Methinks this be not the whole story? What details are you
- *not* telling us? Did you know this woman well? Had she
- indicated to you that she was interested in being kissed
- (by you)? I'm not arguing, just curious.

- What the heck do you mean by "sequester their sexuality from the
- whole world"? This would imply to me that a person's sexuality
- is somehow accessible to the whole world, and they must take
- action to deny such access? That's what I understand by
- "sequester". For example, we speak of sequestering a jury. We
- mean that we take people who would generally be out and running
- around in the world and put them in the unnatural state of
- being in-accessible for a short period of time. In general,
- I would think that most people would feel that sexuality is
- somehow private, and the the action is to chose to share it or
- not share it with another individual. The use of sequester
- seems to imply the opposite, that sexuality is somehow public
- unless the action of making it private takes place. Am I
- reading you correctly? Is this what you mean?
-
- I am not arguing for/against your story-- it intrigues me.
-
- I will suggest a standard test for "sexual harassment" that
- I claim is foolproof (for straight men). I call it the
- Wagner test (just out of humility), and it's never been
- published. "If a gay man who was much bigger than you engaged
- in the same activity you engaged in w/regard to this woman,
- would it make you feel uncomfortable?" If the answer is
- yes, then the action is sexual harassment.
-
- This test was actually dreamed up to help a friend understand
- why saying "Nice butt, babe!" to a woman might make her feel
- uncomfortable. The friend decided that a much larger gay man
- coming up to him, looking at his butt and saying, "Nice butt,
- babe!" would make him feel uncomfortable.
-
- The reason for making the other man *much* bigger is that
- most women feel some physical intimidation from men. The
- reason for suggesting that the other man be gay is that
- then you would have to judge his statement as coming from
- someone who might want to have sex with you-- which is
- the situation women often find themselves in.
-
- So my other question for you. If a much bigger gay man
- asked you for a kiss in the same situation and manner
- you asked this lady for a kiss, would you feel
- uncomfortable?
-
- Hope you tell us more about what happened.
