  24. For the nth time, you can marry the person you love.  Why do you think you
  25. need the blessing of the state or society to do that?  You don't you know.
  26. You are free to marry any other consenting person or group you like (in
  27. Oregon and most states).  You just can't get a state marriage license
  28. unless it is a member of the opposite sex you want to marry.
