- I agree that we need to immerse ourselves in recovery for the first year
- or two. As long as we dilligently work steps and get into service. Then
- we need to move out into the real world, dump the us and them mentality,
- learn empowerment over powelessness, and find Stage II recovery. We can
- do the 'Real' 13th step, and go ahead with our lives, building self esteem
- and having the courage to break our reliance on meetings, sponsors and
- all that. Then we can attend meetings for maintanance, social reasons, or
- to be of service, instead of out of constant dependency and desparation.
