  11. Hi Everyone,

  13. First I want to say thank you for all the responses I got
  14. pertaining to my asking for help with the guy that has been
  15. following me.  I have gotten over 60 responses, and every
  16. single one of them told me to go to the police.  
  17.  
  18. So, this is what happened.  When I called the city police, the
  19. officer I talked with practically laughed at me when I asked if
  20. Wisconsin had an anti-stalking laws.  The only thing he could 
  21. offer me was possibly a restraining evidence if I could "prove"
  22. to this male cop that I was in danger.  I wasn't to happy about
  23. this.

  25. I then called the Campus Police and Security (they are full-fledged
  26. police officers - our campus has over 50,000 students), and they
  27. were really wonderful.  I spoke with a female officer and she was
  28. understanding, and is going to talk to this guy tomorrow.  If this
  29. doesn't help, which she believes it will, than I will go back and
  30. request a restraining order and take further actions against him.
  31. As for the unlawful entry, I haven't pushed that issue yet, and the
  32. female officer was reluctant to take a copy of the report I wrote 
  33. if I wasn't ready to get a restraining order or press charges.  So
  34. I am holding on to that for now (I printed out what I posted here).

  36. Thank you all for your support and advice, and if any of you are
  37. from Wisconsin and have the opportunity to push for anti-stalker
  38. laws, please do so - from what I've been hearing, this behavior
  39. is all too common.
