  12. Well, I'm peeved.

  14. I've been turning over a certain ethical question in my mind,
  15. think I've come to a conclusion, and if I'm right it constitutes
  16. a peeve of enormous proportions.

  18. A while ago two smug female undergraduates raised up an enormous
  19. fuss about a poster being circulated on campus. The poster, which
  20. advertised a cabaret/dance, featured an extremely busty woman.

  22. Not a photo, mind, but a caricature drawing of a woman in a
  23. bikini.
  24.  
  25. The usual feminist/antifeminist diatribes were spouted, and
  26. the standard free speech/hatred of women stuff was trotted out
  27. and aired.

  29. Both sides got to have their little moment in the sun.

  31. Now I know where I stand on the subject: Depictions of seminaked
  32. nubile females are a Good Thing, and people who don't like to
  33. admit to this are either (a) Silly or (b) Out to feather their
  34. own nests at the expense of someone elses pleasures.

  36. But what peeves me, what really gets up my nose about it, what
  37. really makes me genuinely angry, is the obvious corollary to
  38. their censoring attitude:

  40. "You, being a man, are obviously a pig. Your motives are automatically
  41. those of a rapist murderer, and therefore you are not allowed to have
  42. an opinion which dissents from ours. We are the sole arbiters of what
  43. is acceptable, so if we don't like it, that's the end of the discussion.
  44. Knuckle under, or you are simply a sexist male with all the morals
  45. of a diseased slime mold."
