  30. Not if you're aware of what you're doing.  Sometimes I've thought that
  31. "entities" have told me things.  I'm 99% certain that it's my imagination
  32. trying to tell me something, .05% certain that it really is whatever
  33. entity it claims to be, and .05% certain that it's some other external
  34. force teasing me.  Trying to get an entity to give me some information
  35. that only it would know so I can test its veracity would be a complete
  36. waste of time.  In fact, I think it would be naive and silly.  The only
  37. thing that matters is what I was told, and did it make sense, and is it
  38. worth acting on.  My critical thought is much better expended looking
  39. there.  But I'm starting with the assumption that I'm talking to myself,
  40. and the spirit/goddess/disembodied-whatever is just an imaginative metaphor.
  41. I suppose if someone thought that their disembodied-whatever was a literal
  42. thingie then they would want to check it out more carefully.
