- But the whole concept is FLAWED. Limiting IRC to sites running authd
- would be a quick-hack semisolution to a small part of the problems to
- be dealt with, but would piss off a large number of users currently on
- IRC, i.e. the ones who use single-user machines, telnet or are on
- sites which don't run authd (and can't convince their admin to install
- it just for the sake of IRC ;-) or are on exotic machines on which an
- authd perhaps will never run (think of IBMainframes...)

- The point is the UN*Xocentristic view behind the proposal. A user does
- not equal a login anywhere in the world, and to verify a specific user
- is mostly technically impossible.
