- Exactly! Half the fun was taking "ordinary" American iron, goosing it up,
- and beating the sports cars at their own game. Ak Miller's "Caballo de Hierro"
- was a '27 T body with a flathead V8 and cycle fenders. Ugly as sin, went like
- stink. Stroppe, Kurtis, lots of people in Indy and NASCAR and hot rodders
- went to Mexico to give it a go. Heck, even the great driver Manuel Fangio
- started driving in his own '37 Chevy hot rod. It's still around, too.
