- As I recall, the higher the capacity of a disc, the higher the
- coercivity of the recording surface. This is so that, as the data
- get more and more dense, individual flux transitions don't start
- interfering with adjacent flux transitions.

- However, writing to a higher coercivity disc requires a higher write
- current -- stands to reason. So, a very-low-cap drive head won't produce
- enough magnetic field strength to impinge data onto discs designed
- for higher capacity drives. Ever tried to format 1.2MB discs in the
- old IBM PC 360KB drives? "Track 0 is bad -- diskette unusable".

- ObHack: corny [car-related] hack for a friend's Mini -- replacing
- broken fan-belt with an old stocking. Yep, this is not much of a
- hack at first -- but it got to be a pretty mainstream hack when he
- went on to clock plenty more k's before replacing the stocking!
