- As I recall, the new disc drives had heads which were 1/2 the size of
- the older drives to allow them to access the higher density data.
- To read old format low density, they used to move to the centre of
- the (wide) track to read.

- Thus with the new discs, the old drive would try to write one track over
- two of the new ones, and everything got rather confused. I'm pretty certain
- that was why.

- Writing a disc formatter in m/c for my BBC to get the interleave right.
- Ended up 3x as fast as the commercial one I used previously.

- When I upgraded my BBC B to a Master, I got a lot of old games working
- by editing the binaries and modifying all the jmp to_direct_addresses to the OS rom
- to go through the vectors in page 2 (? -- been kinda a long time now). Simple enough
- but it irritated me at the time.
