  20.   I can live with these bands in the "Goth Top 40" :-),  but I would
  21.  pick some other albums. E.g DCD/DCD, Bauhaus/Mask, SoM/only the first 12"s

  24.   Well, let me mention some of my favorite albums. Some bands are never
  25.  mentioned in this newsgroup. Am I getting to old ? They are definitely
  26.  worth listening to. I hope this list brings some of you to new ideas.

  28.     Virgin Prunes        -    If I die, I die
  29.                     (The best Goth album made ever !)

  31.     SPK            -    Zamia Lehmanni
  32.     Coil            -    The Horse Rotorvator
  33.     The Sound        -    From the lions mouth
  34.                     (Has anyone outside England or Holland 
  35.                     ever heard of them ?)
  36.     A Certain Ratio        -    To Each .....
  37.                     (Before Ian Curtis hung himself, they
  38.                     were more popular then Joy Division)
  39.     Dave Ball        -    In Strict Tempo
  40.                     (Featuring Gavin Friday and Genisis                        P. Orridge).
  41.     Jesus & Mary Chain    -    Psycho Candy
  42.                     (In 85, this was the first new album in
  43.                     in 2 years that made me sit straight up)
  44.     New Order        -    Movement
  45.     Comsat Angels        -    Fiction
  46.                     (Same question as with the Sound)
  47.     Theatre of Hate        -    West world
  48.     Cocteau Twins        -    Garlands
  49.     Psychic TV        -    Dreams less sweet
  50.                     (Maybe some people consider this an
  51.                     industrial band ? To me, this album is
  52.                     most definitly gothic)
  53.     the Cramps        -    Songs the lord taugth us /Psychedelic
  54.                         Jungle/ Off the bone
  55.                     (Maybe the music is not so gothic, but
  56.                     the lyrics are. They have the highest
  57.                     level of vampires, werewolfs, zombies,
  58.                     mass murderers, voodoo, human flies,
  59.                     etc. in their songs, of any band I know)
  60.     Tuxedomoon        -    Half mute/ Desire/ Holy wars
  61.                     (All three are great, dark, sad,
  62.                     impressive albums)
  63.     This Mortal Coil    -    It'll end in tears
  64.     the Fall        -    The wonderfull & frightening world of ..
  65.                     (Featuring Gavin Friday on 2 songs)
  66.     the Gunclub        -    Miami
  67.                     (Cowboy gothic ?? :-)
  68.     Modern Eon        -    Fiction tales
  69.     Medium Medium        -    In the glitterhouse
  70.                     (Funk gothic ?)

  72.   So my top 10 of Goth albums would be: "If I die, I die", "Alice", "DCD",
  73.  "Pornography", "From the lions mouth", "Psycho candy", "Movement",
  74.  "Zamia Lehmanni", "To Each ..." and "The Horse Rotovator".
