- Actually, I've noted the same tendency, and I probably tend towards more
- contact with the some of the community.

- Interact comfortably with? Really. Why not treat them as very
- masculine females (or would that expose some prejudices on your part)?
- Its only an approximate method, but it helps.

- Ever realize that other countries have problems keeping sub-countries
- integrated, while here we have problems keeping our
- sub-cultures and races integrated? And yes, the homosexual community
- does qualify as a sub-culture until it is finally accepted.

-
- I have roughly the same, if not more, contact with homosexuals as
- mykel.alvis, and have noted the same trend in my friends.
- Basically, it appears that the people in discussion are mis-interpreting
- social bias concerning gender as social bias concerning
- sexual preference (which, considering that mainstream media
- portrays mostly straight men and women, is not unreasonable).
-
- It is sad--there is a rough distinction in the gay population
- between:
- queens
- flamers
- straight acting gays. I assume the gender/sexuality crossover
- in stereotyping is partly to blame. :(
-
- Personally, since the standard female stereotypes annoys the
- hell out of me, the tendency for some people to willingly
- accept this stereotyping is even more annoying.
-
- What I really don't understand is what straight males find disturbing
- about homosexual males. (Which side I am on is not an issue).
-
- But then again, I've been over confused for far too long....
