  18. MY favorite Northern California spot is The Sea Ranch, a
  19. resort community in Sonoma County just south of Gualala
  20. on the Mendicino border.

  22. Lovely place -- a delicate balance of beach (the Northern
  23. California kind), meadow and redwood forest. A perfect
  24. microcosm of N. California, right down to the Eddie Bauer
  25. Golden Retriever in the Volvo station wagon parked 
  26. outside each wood-shingled house.
