Starting a new puzzle

You may elect to stop solving a puzzle at any time. XWord CE will ask if you would like to save your changes (if you have not already done so) before exiting the grid display. From the File menu select Open a New Puzzle. You will then return to the opening selection screen.

The puzzle DLL's themselves are installed by default to the \windows directory of your HPC. You can easily spot them by the XW_xx.DLL filename. The xx will be replaced by 2 numbers. You may move these DLL files to the ROOT of your Storage Card to save memory on your HPC.

Note: Windows CE will not find the DLLs if they are not on the ROOT of the Storage Card.

Future puzzles may be downloaded in the form of Puzzle Pak DLL files. Puzzle Paks may be obtained from the retailer you purchased this software from or try looking in the Feedback section for additional locations.

Each Puzzle Pak will contain an install / uninstall script that can be accessed through the Application Manager.

After you have solved all of the puzzles in a Puzzle Pak you can remove that DLL from your system by deleting the DLL file.

NOTE: You cannot remove a SINGLE puzzle, you will be removing the entire Puzzle Pak!

At the choose screen look at the numbers in front of the puzzle name. There are two numbers (0-3). This means that this puzzle is in DLL #0, Puzzle #3 in that DLL. To remove that entire DLL (Look at the other puzzles in that DLL first) simply go to the \windows directory (Or your storage card if you placed the DLL files there) and delete the XW_0.DLL file. This Puzzle Pak will now be PERMANENTLY deleted!

You can also simply copy that DLL file off the HPC back to your desktop machine if you would like to reinstall it at a later time.

XW_xx.DLL are all the Puzzle Pak Files. The xx is the number of the DLL (0-99).

Stand alone Puzzle Paks (those not included with the program) will come with an install / uninstall program. You can run the Application Manager to remove those Puzzle Paks.
