- 3D Studio Installation Notes

- You must run QUICK SETUP from the Main Menu and select an appropriate
- monitor type, prior to installing the 3D Studio Display Driver.

- 1.0 Installation Notes for 3D Studio
-
- 1) Make sure 3D Studio has already been installed on your hard drive.
-
- 2) To complete the install successfully, you will require the following
- information:
-
- a) The full path name of the 3D Studio directory.
- b) The batch file is called ADI3DS.BAT.
-
- 3) From the Install Enhanced Drivers menu select 3D Studio.
-
- 4) When INSTALL has completed copying all necessary files, exit the
- program.
-
- 5) To configure the drivers, change directory to 3D Studio base
- directory and run ADI3DS.BAT.
-
- a) Delete 3DADI.CFG.
- b) Type "EDIT 3DS.SET", this will display the 3DS.SET file in the
- DOS editor.
- c) Use the Search function <Alt> S and Find to locate and change
- the following entries:

- Old line 231 (approx.):
- Render-DISPLAY = "VGA300X200"
- New line 231 (approx.):
- Render-DISPLAY = "RCPADI"
-
- Old line 139 (approx.):
- ;MAIN-DISPLAY = RCPADI
- New line 139 (approx.): (remove the ";")
- MAIN-DISPLAY = RCPADI

- Old line 146 (approx.):
- ;MATERIAL-DISPLAY = RCPADI
- New line 146 (approx.): ( remove the ";")
- MATERIAL-DISPLAY = RCPADI

- d) Launch 3D Studio by typing 3DS.
- e) Configure the Main Display RCPADI, for the desired resolution.
- f) Configure the Material Editor, for the desired resolution.
- g) Configure the Rendering Screen RDPADI, for the desired resolution.
- h) Configure the Rendering Screen RCPADI, for the desired resolution.
