  1. 3D Studio Installation Notes

  4. READ THIS FILE COMPLETELY BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO USE THIS PRODUCT !

  6. You must run QUICK SETUP from the Main Menu and select an appropriate
  7. monitor type, prior to installing the 3D Studio Display Driver.

  11. 1.0     Installation Notes for 3D Studio
  12.  
  13. 1) Make sure 3D Studio has already been installed on your hard drive.
  14.  
  15. 2) To complete the install successfully, you will require the following
  16.    information:
  17.  
  18.     a) The full path name of the 3D Studio directory.
  19.     b) The batch file is called ADI3DS.BAT.
  20.  
  21. 3) From the Install Enhanced Drivers menu select 3D Studio.
  22.  
  23. 4) When INSTALL has completed copying all necessary files, exit the
  24.    program.  
  25.  
  26. 5) To configure the drivers, change directory to 3D Studio base 
  27.    directory and run ADI3DS.BAT.  
  28.  
  29.     a) Delete 3DADI.CFG.
  30.     b) Type "EDIT 3DS.SET", this will display the 3DS.SET file in the 
  31.        DOS editor.
  32.     c) Use the Search function <Alt> S and Find to locate and change 
  33.        the following entries:
  34.       
  35.          Old line 231 (approx.):
  36.              Render-DISPLAY = "VGA300X200"
  37.          New line 231 (approx.):
  38.              Render-DISPLAY = "RCPADI"
  39.  
  40.          Old line 139 (approx.):
  41.             ;MAIN-DISPLAY = RCPADI
  42.          New line 139 (approx.): (remove the ";")
  43.             MAIN-DISPLAY = RCPADI
  44.  
  45.          Old line 146 (approx.):
  46.             ;MATERIAL-DISPLAY = RCPADI
  47.          New line 146 (approx.): ( remove the ";")
  48.             MATERIAL-DISPLAY = RCPADI
  49.     
  50.     d) Launch 3D Studio by typing 3DS.
  51.     e) Configure the Main Display RCPADI, for the desired resolution. 
  52.     f) Configure the Material Editor, for the desired resolution.  
  53.     g) Configure the Rendering Screen RDPADI, for the desired resolution.  
  54.     h) Configure the Rendering Screen RCPADI, for the desired resolution.
