  1. ====[ Important Installation Notes ]====

  3. You can install this version on top of your current Kazaa Lite installation. That way it will remember all of your settings.

  5. It is strongly recommended to first uninstall the following software before installing Kazaa Lite:   Kazaa Media Desktop / Grokster / Sig2Dat
  6.  
  7. KL Extensions and Kazap are not fully compatible with the DietKaza add-on. The reason is that DietKaza tries to overwrite the cd_clint.dll file (= KL Extensions).
  8. A workaround is to make a copy of the cd_clint.dll file. Rename that copy to dietk.dat and put it into the DietKazaa directory (overwriting the existing dietk.dat file).

  10. You can change the location of 'My Shared Folder' to any location you want in Kazaa Lite options.

  13. ====[ Kazaa Lite (K++ Edition) ]====

  16. This is the main program. It is a modified version of the original Kazaa Media Desktop software.
  17.  
  18. The differences are:
  19.  
  20. - No SpyWare.
  21. - No AdWare.
  22. - No popups.
  23. - No banners.
  24. - No bitrate limits for MP3 files.
  25. - Customized startup page (can be changed to anything you want).
  26. - Unlimited times 'Search more' is possible.
  27. - Multi-source downloads now have a maximum of 40 simultanious sources (instead of 8).
  28. - 'Find more sources' is possible once every 1 minute per file (instead of every 10 minutes).
  29. - Participartion Level is set at a constant 1000 (can be disabled)
  30. - People to which you upload can't cut in line anymore regardless of their Participation Level. This improves the number of completed uploads and takes away the advantage that cheaters have.
  31. - No 3rd party dll files loaded anymore (TopSearch/BullGuard).
  32. - No more gold-colored search results (Altnet Inc).
  33. - Fixed Kazaa's error 1030 bug.
  34. - Shared files are scanned every 5 minutes (instead of every 1 minute) to save system resources. This can be changed to any value.
  35. - K++ can now be automaticly be started with Windows. Disabled by default.
  36. - My Shared Folder is located on the system drive by default (usually C:\My Shared Folder). This can be changed to another location easily in Kazaa Lite options.
  37. - Added keyboard shortcuts.
  38. - Shortcuts to My Shared Folder are now dynamic. They will always work, regardless of the location of your shared folder.
  39. - Build in AutoSearchMore feature.
  40. - Build in K++ Configuration tool.
  41. - Search history can be cleaned automaticly when closing Kazaa Lite. 
  42. - Systray icon can be hidden.
  43. - Splash screen can be disabled.
  44. - Add-on tools can be started from within Kazaa Lite.
  45. - It is possible to start other programs from within Kazaa Lite.
  46. - Sig2Dat quicklinks are added directly to the download list. No need to restart Kazaa Lite.

With this tool you can easily download files by clicking on a Sig2Dat hyperlink (these are posted on various websites and forums). This tool will automaticly create a partial download file for you, so you can download the exact same file without having to search for it yourself. This is very usefull to download files whos contents have been verified by others.

  60. This tool can be used to view lots of information about .dat files (partial downloads). Such as filenames, sizes, info about sources, destination folder, etc.
  61. It can extract the file data out of a .dat file.
  62. It can modify sources and the destination location of the file.
  63. It has a feature which enables you to open .dat files in an external program (for example AVI Preview) with the press of a button.

  68. This tool can be used to preview your partial movie downloads, even while they are downloading. It supports AVI and MPEG files.

  73. This add-on will automaticly search for more sources to download from for your downloads. It also has some other features. For example for controlling uploads.

  78. This is a method to block certain websites/servers using a standard Windows file called 'Hosts'. We have customized this file to block a lot of advertising on the internet.

  80. This file in NOT required by Kazaa Lite.

  85. This add-on will automaticly search for more sources to download from for your downloads. Just like Kazap does. This program isn't integrated into Kazaa Lite however like Kazap is.
  86. It is recommended to use only one of these two programs. I recommend Kazap for those who aren't familiar with the two programs.

  91. This tool can be used to setup diffent profiles for Kazaa Lite.
  92. It also has some other features such as filters to move finished files to different directories.
