  2.                     INSTALLING COELI - STELLA 2000

  5.      Before you do anything else, place your mouse-pointer over the
  6.      time readout in your System Tray and make sure your PC's clock
  7.       is showing today's date. If not, you will need to double click
  8.      and set it before attempting to install this Coeli product.
  9.

  11.      Have you tried a previous version of Stella?
  12.      --------------------------------------------

  14.      Don't worry! - Unlike most other astronomy programs in the 
  15.      marketplace, Stella always allows you to evaluate the newest 
  16.          release. There is no one-time shut-out in operation here. 
  17.          So please go ahead and install in the confidence that you 
  18.          will not be hindered in your assessment of this copy's 
  19.          enhanced capabilities.

  22.          However, it is MOST IMPORTANT that you first remove any
  23.          previous versions of Stella prior to installing a new one.
  24.          This point cannot be stressed strongly enough. Simply go
  25.          to Control Panel and select the Add/Remove Programs facility.
  26.          When the file list appears, choose the item 'Stella 2000' for 
  27.          automatic removal. Once the uninstaller has completed its
  28.          operation, you are ready to re-install Stella.

  31.          Windows automatic installation
  32.          ------------------------------

  34.          Your Stella package is installed simply by double clicking on
  35.          the file SETUP.EXE once you have unzipped the contents of
  36.          Stella.zip to a temporary folder of your choosing.

  38.          We recommend the excellent WinZip utility for unpacking
  39.          Stella's main .zip archive. You can get the latest version
  40.          of Winzip from

  44.      If using Winzip, installation is simplicity itself: 
  45.          all you do is double-click on the stella.zip archive and when its
  46.          contents appear in Winzip's main window, just click the 
  47.          Install button on Winzip's toolbar. From there on the process
  48.          is completely automatic.

  51.          If you have not already done so, we would additionally
  52.          recommend that, prior to running SETUP.EXE, you use Explorer
  53.          to create a new folder called Astronomy inside the Windows 95
  54.          Start Menu folder. Just navigate to Windows\Start Menu and
  55.          click with the right mouse button on some unoccupied space in
  56.          Explorer's right-hand window. You'll see a popup menu, one of
  57.          whose options will be |New|. Select |Folder| from the submenu,
  58.          and name it 'Astronomy' or some other appropriate title. After
  59.          setup, you will be able to manually move the shortcut named
  60.          Stella 2000 into this new folder for a tidier and more compact
  61.          Start menu.

  63.          Tip: when in doubt about the Win95 Explorer's file-listing,
  64.          just press [F5] to refresh its display. Very often, an item you
  65.          thought wasn't there will magically appear!

  68.          NB. THE SETUP UTILITY LEAVES ALL PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED FILES OF THE
  69.          SAME NAME INTACT, SO WITHOUT FIRST REMOVING THE LAST
  70.          INSTALLATION, A NEW COPY OF THE PACKAGE CANNOT BE INSTALLED.

  73.          Removal of the package
  74.          ----------------------

  76.          Stella may be uninstalled at any time simply by opening
  77.          Control Panel from the Settings entry in your Start Menu, and
  78.          double- clicking on the item Add/Remove Programs. You will be
  79.          shown a list of programs currently installed on your system,
  80.          from which you should select the item 'Stella 2000' for
  81.          automatic removal.
