  1.      Intranet Chat.

  3. Intranet Chat is a tool for the messaging between computers in the local
  4. network in MS Windows 95/98/NT.
  5.  
  6. It proposes following functions and abilities:

  8.       1. Doesn't requite dedicated server. For sending messages in this case 
  9.          chat uses Windows MailSlots. It's enough to have only one protocol 
  10.          installed that is connected to the Microsoft Network. But using this 
  11.          connect type chat works not always good in the networks with some 
  12.          subnets.
  13.       2. Ability to work with server using TCP/IP. Using this connection type
  14.          chat works good in the networks with some subnets and even in the 
  15.          Internet. Chat server exists like ordinary application and like 
  16.          service Windows NT.
  17.       3. Common chat. This chat is available for all users. Everybody can write 
  18.          message in this chat.
  19.       4. Private messages. Possibility to send private message for user, for 
  20.          group of user or for all users. These selected users will receive this 
  21.          message.
  22.       5. Private chat. Possibility to create chat with other user. This chat 
  23.          will be accessible only for these two users.
  24.       6. Line or channel. Possibility to create line for discussing or chatting. 
  25.          It's possible to set name of line and password for joining to it. So 
  26.          only users that will know password will be able to join to such line
  27.       7. Message board. Each user can write message that will be displayed from 
  28.          his name on this board when he is in chat.
  29.       8. Filter on received messages. It's possible to write different filters 
  30.          on received messages and them enable and use some of them.
  31.       9. Quick messages. Possibility to set shortcuts for words or phases for 
  32.          quick inserting them into the message editor.
  33.      10. Online alerts. Possibility to set alert on enter in the chat user with 
  34.          given name or from given computer. When this will take place one of 
  35.          actions can be performed: 
  36.          a) Chat will be shown and will report about this alert.
  37.          b) The typed message in this alert will be sent to the entered user.
  38.          c) The typed message in this alert will be sent to the you.
  39.      11. Log. Possibility to store messages from common chat and private 
  40.          messages in the files and then see these messages.
  41.      12. Four modes are supported:
  42.          a) Normal. All messages are received. In this mode when private message
  43.             or message in private chat is received chat will appear in the top 
  44.             of all applications and show this message.
  45.          b) Don't disturb on private messages that were sent for all users. This 
  46.             is so-called mass messages. If you don't want to receive such 
  47.             message you can use this mode.
  48.          c) Full don't disturb.
  49.          d) I'm away.
  50.      13. For all these modes you can set answer message that will be sent to 
  51.          the sender of message. For normal mode this is a message that will be 
  52.          sent when you enter in the chat.         Also the icon in the systray 
  53.          will be changed in the according with the state of chat.
  54.      14. Possibility to set nickname and change it during the session.
  55.      15. The chat status can be shown in the separated window like in ICQ.
  56.      16. Automic "I'm away mode" if any key on keyboard was not pressed or mouse
  57.          cursor was not moved during set time.
  58.      17. Two ignore modes. First is when only private messages from the selected 
  59.          are ignored.  Second is when all messages from selected user are 
  60.          ignored.
