Please DO NOT contact ATI Technical Support or other ATI departments for
assistance with the drivers provided here. They will not have sufficient
information to be able to provide technical assistance regarding unreleased
drivers. The On-line Beta Problem Report Form is your means of informing
us of and issues you may have experienced.
Please see http://www.atitech.com/ca_us/spdrivers/index.html

=====================================================
1) Introduction
PLEASE NOTE: Confirm that you do not have an earlier ATI OpenGL Quake
driver installed in your games directory or in your /WINDOWS/SYSTEM/
directory. You may experience unpredictable problems in the game. If
a file named OpenGL32.DLL is located in your games directory either rename
it or delete it before testing this driver with your OpenGL application.
If you have installed a non Microsoft version of OpenGL32.DLL in your
/WINDOWS/SYSTEM/ directory you must obtain the Microsoft version of this
driver for it to function correctly with OpenGL applications.
-- This driver will work only with the RAGE PRO and RAGE LT_PRO family of
graphic chips in either PCI or AGP configurations. That includes the
XPERT 98, XPERT@WORK, XPERT@PLAY, XPERT@PLAY 98, XPERT XL, XPERT LCD and
ALL-IN-WONDER PRO.
** THIS SOFTWARE WILL NOT WORK WITH NON RAGE PRO products**
-- This driver will not work with Windows NT.
-- This driver contains support for English only.
-- This driver contains 3DNow! optimizations.
-- This is a full Windows 95/98 driver set with an integrated OpenGL ICD
component. This driver requires the Microsoft software OpenGL driver,
OpenGL32.DLL, for proper operation. Please ensure this file is located
in your /WINDOWS/SYSTEM/ directory. We strongly recommend that
you use the OpenGL32.DLL file that has been included with your version
of Windows 9X. If you are unsure if this file is installed on your system
use Windows Explorer to browse your /WINDOWS/SYSTEM/ directory
for confirmation that OpenGL32.DLL is located there.
-- Microsoft's DirectX 6.1or later runtime is required for use with this driver.
To obtain DirectX for home users please point your browser to:
http://www.microsoft.com/directx/download.asp
-- OpenGL for Windows 95 is included in the Windows 95 OSR 2.X and
Windows 98 releases. The libraries for Windows 95 are also available
as the self-extracting archive file on the Microsoft ftp site at
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/softlib/mslfiles/opengl95.exe. This contains
OpenGL32.DLL which is needed to run OpenGL programs under
Windows 95.

2) Installation
THIS DRIVER SET INCLUDES A SETUP PROGRAM WHICH INSTALLS THE
DISPLAY DRIVER WITHOUT INVOKING THE DISPLAY PROPERTIES SCREEN.
THE SETUP PROGRAM MAY TAKE A MINUTE OR MORE TO EVALUATE THE
SYSTEM REGISTRY PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE DRIVER.
Installation Instructions:
1) Start Windows 95/98.
2) Install DirectX for home users from
http://www.microsoft.com/directx/download.asp
3) Confirm you do NOT have the ATI OpenGL Quake driver installed in
either your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ directory or your games directory.
4) Confirm Microsoft's software version of OpenGL32.DLL is installed
in your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ directory using the instructions above.
5) You must download the zipped driver and unzip it to a directory on your
systems hard disk. For example C:\temp is a common directory used
to initially save installation files into.
6) Close all programs, click the Start button. Click the Run menu item.
Click the Browse button. Browse to the directory where you
unzipped the installation files.
7) Select SETUP.EXE and press OK.
8) Follow the onscreen instructions.
=====================================================
3) To Uninstall
Use Add/Remove Programs from your Windows 95/98 Control Panel to
uninstall the ATI Display Drivers.

4) OpenGL Specific Issues
This driver release contains a full OpenGL ICD, which complies with the
OpenGL 1.1 specification. Hardware acceleration is provided for most
features contained in the specification at 16 bpp. If you are
configured for 8 bpp, 24 bpp or 32 bpp OpenGL will not be accelerated.
