4.0 Windows 95/98 ATI RAGE enhanced display driver problems
The Windows 95/98 ATI RAGE enhanced display driver is capable of using
monitor timing data contained within Windows 95/98. This data is
selected by configuring a monitor type at Windows 95/98 installation
time, or via the Settings page of the display properties sheet. If
you change the selected monitor type via the Settings page of the
display properties sheet, the new timing data may not take effect until
after you restart Windows 95/98.
A solution to this problem: always restart Windows 95/98 after changing
the monitor type.
The Windows 95/98 ATI RAGE enhanced display driver is capable of using
monitor timing data contained within Windows 95/98. This data is
selected by configuring a monitor type at Windows 95/98 installation
time, or via the Settings page of the display properties sheet. The
Windows 95/98 ATI RAGE enhanced display driver may incorrectly interpret
Windows 95/98 monitor timing data for some older monitors that require
interlaced modes. This may cause some options to be disabled.
A solution to this problem: select one of the (Standard monitor types)
available via the Settings page of the Display Properties sheet.
In Windows 95/98, display drivers can be installed via the Add New
Hardware wizard (although the procedure detailed in section 3.0 is
recommended). When the Windows 95/98 ATI RAGE enhanced display driver
is installed via the Add New Hardware wizard, the Settings page is
not installed into the ATI RAGE display adapter property sheet.
In Windows 95/98, Rapid Resuming with the Virtual Desktop on causes
loss of the Virtual Desktop. This is because Windows 95/98
reinitializes the video mode on an APM resume. No data loss occurs.
The desktop size is reduced to the screen size. Windows 95/98 also
reinitializes the video mode when windows is restarted on systems with
Rapid Resume. Again, no data loss occurs, and the desktop size is
reduced to the screen size.
Installations from network drives is only supported when using mapped
drive letters (e.g. N:\WIN9x\disk1..) Universal naming convention
paths (e.g. \\netserv\win9x\disk1..) are not currently supported
by the ATISETUP.EXE.

5.0 Windows 95/98 property page problems
When you adjust monitor settings in the Adjustment page of the Display
Properties sheet, your monitor could become unreadable. If this occurs,
press the ESC key to return to your previous monitor settings.

6.0 Windows 98 Issues
If your machine has multiple video cards from multiple vendors, and you
wish to use the Multiple Monitor feature of Windows 98, all installed
video drivers must be Multi-monitor compatible. ATI's 5.2 and higher
drivers are multi-monitor compatible. Check with your other card
manufacturer's to determine what version of their drivers you need.
The current 5.20 driver does not supports DirectDraw or D3D
applications on the secondary display. When you are configured for
multi-monitor, these types of applications will only function on the
primary display. The ATI Player is one such application.
In multiple monitor configurations with both a PCI and an AGP card in
the system Windows 98 will define the PCI card as primary and the AGP
as secondary display.
The ATI Property Pages are accessible via the Display Properties,
Settings, Advanced button.

7.0 Application Issues
Xdemo
Application requests source alpha blending on texture that doesn't
consist alpha (565).
Monster Track Madness and Twisted Metal 2
Applications don't check driver capabilities and request not supported
blending mode MODULATEALPHA.
