  7. The trojans W95/BackOrifice and W32/Netbus are widely distributed and can 
  8. severely compromise security on affected machines. TroGuard is a small 
  9. program that cooperates with the Norman Virus Control package in order to 
  10. catch and kill such malicious processes on your Win95/98/NT system, restore 
  11. the system registry and delete the trojan executable.

  13. A good way to use it is to place a shortcut to it the Win95/98/NT startup 
  14. folder in order to secure a clean bootup.

  16. As mentioned, TroGuard requires Norman Virus Control to be installed on 
  17. the machine - this ensures that TroGuard will keep up-to-date with most 
  18. new trojans as they are released just by updating the scanner definition 
  19. file.

  21. This version now also works under Win NT; you should have logged on with 
  22. admin rights as TroGuard might need to do a process kill.

  24. The file PSAPI.DLL should be installed in the same directory as TroGuard.
