Trojan protection -- TroGuard (c) 1998 Norman Data Defense Systems The trojans W95/BackOrifice and W32/Netbus are widely distributed and can severely compromise security on affected machines. TroGuard is a small program that cooperates with the Norman Virus Control package in order to catch and kill such malicious processes on your Win95/98/NT system, restore the system registry and delete the trojan executable. A good way to use it is to place a shortcut to it the Win95/98/NT startup folder in order to secure a clean bootup. As mentioned, TroGuard requires Norman Virus Control to be installed on the machine - this ensures that TroGuard will keep up-to-date with most new trojans as they are released just by updating the scanner definition file. This version now also works under Win NT; you should have logged on with admin rights as TroGuard might need to do a process kill. The file PSAPI.DLL should be installed in the same directory as TroGuard. TroGuard takes one parameter; /n = do not delete trojan if found.
