  1.                     PLOT MAESTRO

  3.   Plot Maestro is one of several educational programs from 
  4. Russ & Ryan EdWare.  For additional information, screen

  13.   Plot Maestro is an advanced plotting program suitable for 
  14. math and science teachers of all levels and their students.  
  15. The license allows the teacher to distribute the program to 
  16. their current students or to install the program on 
  17. classroom computers used by their current students.  It is 
  18. ideal for doing demonstrations, analyzing lab data, creating 
  19. graphs that may be included in tests, lesson plans, or 
  20. technical papers or for assigning exercises for the student 
  21. to complete.  Teachers will find that it is much easier for 
  22. the students to use than graphing calculators and that the 
  23. charts, which may be printed at full printer resolution, are 
  24. more functional.  Plot Maestro will allow more time to be 
  25. spent analyzing the math and physics involved in a 
  26. particular chart compared to the mechanics involved in how 
  27. to produce the chart.

  29.   For starters, Plot Maestro allows you to plot graphs the 
  30. old fashioned way using graph paper.  It can print high 
  31. resolution, accurately scaled graph paper for 20 of the most 
  32. popular graph paper types including various square types 
  33. (English and Metric), full log, semi-log, polar and 
  34. isometric-orthographic types.  Students can now print their 
  35. own graph paper.

  37.   Plot Maestro has full support for plotting data sets of x, 
  38. y data pairs.  The program can also calculate and plot the 
  39. best fit curve to the data set using linear, exponential, 
  40. logarithmic or power curve fits and will calculate the 
  41. coefficient of determination.  This allows the student to 
  42. determine which method produces the best fit.  Up to 10 
  43. different data sets may be plotted on the same chart.

  45.   Plot Maestro may also plot any formula.  Formulas may be 
  46. entered using a simple BASIC like syntax and may include 
  47. more than 50 built in functions, 18 operators and any number 
  48. of user defined constants.  Formulas may also contain 
  49. variables that can be evaluated at run time.  Up to 10 
  50. different formulas may be plotted on a single chart.

  52.   Plot Maestro also includes a calculator that can evaluate 
  53. any expression and an equation solver that can calculate the 
  54. roots to any equation and numerically integrate formulas.

  56.   Plot Maestro is a 32 bit program and requires Windows 95 
  57. or Windows NT.  A Pentium CPU with a minimum of 16 MB of RAM 
  58. is recommended to run the program.

  60.   The included setup program requires Windows 95 or Windows 
  61. NT.  To install the programs, just run the setup.exe 
  62. program.  If you would like to review the on-line 
  63. documentation prior to installing the programs, use the /x 
  64. command line switch:

  68.   You can then elect to only install the following help 
  69. file:

  73.   You can view the help file by double clicking it from the 
  74. Windows Explorer.  The help file contains extensive 
  75. documentation as well as an order form and pricing 
  76. information.  The help file also includes a tutorial to help 
  77. get first time users proficient in using the program.
  78.  
  79.   The setup program may be run directly from your hard disk 
  80. or CD-ROM if you have downloaded the program or obtained a 
  81. CD-ROM copy.  You may install over a previous installation 
  82. if you are upgrading.  However, you should not install a 
  83. shareware copy over an existing registered copy.  The setup 
  84. program will not delete or modify any of your existing data.  
  85. The default directory for installing the program is;

  87.      C:\PROGRAM FILES\PMAESTRO
  88.  
  89.   The setup program will check all shared files for internal 
  90. version information and only replace those that are the same 
  91. revision or older.  This allows you to replace any shared 
  92. file that may have become corrupted by just running the 
  93. setup program again.  No other programs should be running 
  94. when you run the setup program.  If one of the shared files 
  95. is in use, the setup program may not be able to replace it.  
  96. If you get a message saying that a file is in use, you 
  97. should shut down the program that is using it.  If this is 
  98. not feasible, you can elect to skip the file.  Since the 
  99. file is already in use, this is usually adequate unless the 
  100. installed file happens to be an older version.

  102.   Registered users may obtain technical support for the Plot 
  103. Maestro program directly from the program author.  Do not 
  104. call the 800 order line for support or to ask questions 
  105. about the latest version, desired features, etc.  Please 
  106. help keep the cost of the program low by only using the 800 
  107. number for actual orders.  Technical questions will not be 
  108. answered on the 800 line.

  110.   Depending on how fast you need an answer, you may obtain 
  111. support by mail, email, fax or phone.  If requesting support 
  112. by mail or email, please identify yourself (email screen 
  113. names do not identify you), and describe the problem you are 
  114. having.  Students are not eligible for technical support.  
  115. They should obtain technical support from the registered 
  116. teacher.
