- Installation

- POPIt now uses InstallShield to automate the installation process.
- Simply extract the SETUP.EXE file from the POPIT.ZIP, and
- double click it to start the Installation Wizard.

- Once the installation is complete, the following files will be in the folder that you
- designated for POPIt:

- popit.exe
- The application.
- piicon.dll
- Custom icon resource file that POPIt requires.
- call32.dll
- A public domain library by Don Bradner to interface a 16bit
- application into Win95 and NT 4.0.
- cswskctl.vbx
- A freeware library from Catalyst Software for winsock control.
- msghook.vbx
- A freeware library from ActiveXpert for intercepting windows
- messages.
- vbio.vbx
- A freeware library by SheAr Software for reading the hard-drive
- serial number (for registration protection).
- uucode16.dll
- Public Domain UUEncode / Decode library for encoding attachments.
- spamlist.PPI
- Productive Programming supplied list of known spammers.

- SPAM.WAV
- "I Don't Like SPAM" Python WAV clip.

- Un-Installation

- File Removal:
-
- To remove POPIT from your system, simply open Control Panel and selected Add /
- Remove Software, and select "POPIt Mail Notifier PLUS!". The unistall wizard will
- remove POPIt from your PC.
- You can also manually delete the files and the folder where POPIT currently resides.
- No other hidden files are on the system.

- Registry Parameters:
-
- POPIT uses the system Registry to store its configuration information. Because of the
- volitile nature of manually removing items from the Registry, it is recomended that that
- you leave the POPIt information in the Registry to avoid accidentally damaging it.

- If you "must" remove the Registry information, then carefully delete everything under the
- key:

- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Productive Programming Inc.\POPIt Mail Notifier PLUS!

- Notification:

- If you would be kind enough to email me with the reason that you unistalled POPIt I
- would be most appreciative. The Email Notification Utility business is a compedative
- one, and you feedback is used in future improvements to POPIt.
