  34. 1. GENERAL INTRODUCTION.
  35. PC RALLY is an entertainment program based in the rallies competitions.
  36. Pilots as Carlos Sainz and his copilot Luis Moya has contributed with their
  37. successes in the worldwide championship to increase the public liking in
  38. general toward this sport.  Now, with PC RALLY it is possible fully enjoy
  39. this competition thanks to the care used in achieving their multiple options
  40. and the realism of their graphic and movements, that will enjoy through the
  41. circuit included in this shareware version. (In the full version you'll
  42. get three different rallies every one with ten circuits, besides phases of
  43. training, modify the cars to pleasure of the user, and the possibility of
  44. playing circuits separately, as the more characteristic options of this full
  45. version).

  47. 2. BASE REQUIREMENTS
  48. The requirements for the operation of PC RALLY are the following:
  49. - PC 386
  50. - Standard VGA graphic card
  51. - Hard disk with at least 5 Mb of free space.
  52. - 3'5 high density floppy drive (1'44 Mb)
  53. - Recomendable to have a disk cache SMARTDRV or similar loaded.
  54. - Recomendable a Sound Blaster card or Gravis.
  55. - it is advisable the selection of menues with mouse.
  56. - MS-DOS 3.0 or higher (recomendable 6.0 +)

  58. 3. INSTALLATION AND DEINSTALLATION.
  59. Installation.
  60. In order to accomplish the process of installation easily, decompress the
  61. distributed file in a directory to your election.  You will have to dispose
  62. of the compress program ARJ, and type:
  63.  
  64. ARJ x -y PCRALLY
  65.  
  66. Deinstallation.
  67. Simply delete the directory where you have installed the program, and his
  68. content.
  69.  
  70. 4. RUNNING THE PROGRAM.
  71. Go to the directory where PC RALLY was installed, typing from the unit of
  72. hard disk where it's installed the program for example:
  73.  
  74. CD \PCRALLY <ENTER>
  75.  
  76. Type now "RALLY" and the program will be executed.  The application doesn't
  77. require mouse in order to operate, but it is advisable at the moment of
  78. selecting between the different options.

  81. 5. MAIN MENU.
  82. As soon as the program is loaded the game allows to go to the main menu.
  83. From this screen it is possible select among the different choices the
  84. program offers.

  86.   1) Training.
  87.   Not available in shareware version.
  88.   2) Run track.
  89.   It is possible to choose just the first sector of first circuit of this menu.
  90.   3) Start rally.
  91.   Just available in full version.
  92.   4) Configure.
  93.   If you want to select controls (keyboard or joystick), or
  94.   activate /deactivate the sound, choose configure.
  95.   5) Back to DOS.
  96.   Allows to return to the operating system when we decide to conclude our
  97.   session with PC RALLY.

  99. Keyboard.  If we decide to use the keyboard like control option, the default
  100. keys to use during the race will be:

  102. <Q> Accelerate
  103. <A> Deccelerate
  104. <O> Turn left
  105. <P> Turn right
  106.  
  107. You must keep in mind that all these buttons are completely configurable by
  108. the user as you wish from this menu.  In order to avoid the use of an
  109. excessive number of keys, it has been opted by employing the use of automatic
  110. gears in the cars
  111.  
  112. 6. VEHICLE AND ACCESSORIES.
  113.  
  114. Toyota Celica.
  115. One of the best cars of the championship. It stands out for his spectacular
  116. line at the chassis, and as his special efficiency in race thanks to the
  117. capacity of his engine and to the system of absorption of the shocks.

  119. 7. TRAINING.
  120. Not available in shareware version

  122. 8. NOTES AND ADVICES.
  123. The first time that the user attempts to play with PC RALLY, you will note
  124. that a rallies car is not so easy of driving like could suppose in a
  125. principle.

  127. For joystick users, it is more than advisable to select the rotational mode
  128. (explained in the chapter of handling of the game), although if you desire to
  129. add difficulty to the game, the directional mode will be much more adequate
  130. for the most skilled players.
