I got sick and tired of doing the SAME missions over and over again,
so I started tinkering with the mission files. I found out how to
change the ships you fly and if you have a tractor beam or not (which
is useless except to set on Max power to Engines so you can move
faster). I wanted a way to do this to all the missions in the game
without having to load each one into my hex editor, so I wrote this
utility to alter them for me.
TIESCR is a utility for use with TIE Fighter, the space-sim game
from LucasArts. It must reside in the directory you keep your
MISSION files in. <Usually C:\TIE\MISSION>. Mission files are
the ones that have the extension .TIE.
Before running TIESCR you ***MUST*** make a back-up of all the files
in your MISSION directory, as they will all be altered by TIESCR.
The author will be held faultless of any damage, permanent or
temporary which results from the use of this program. In other
words: MAKE BACKUPS OF YOUR MISSION FILES!
A word about the randomizer: LucasArts designed the game so that
all the ships could use the Tractor Beam... except the TIE Fighter.
If you put a Tractor Beam on a TIE Fighter it will work, but you
will get some graphics problems. There are no gauges for the
Tractor Beam on the TIE Fighter so you'll get some 'junk'
on the screen (it's not TOO bad) which is from the program trying
to update beam gauges when there is no place for them on the screen.
This is why I made the randomizer prompt you if you want to allow
Tractor Beams on TIE Fighters.

Will not change mission objectives and goals.
BTW - the reason the exe is so big is because I wrote it in BASIC...
Please forgive.
