  1.       --  Installation of Network Hardlock for the CAM350 Family  --

  3. This short procedure will help guide you through the installation
  4. of your CAM350 Family network version. If you have any questions
  5. or problems during this install, please call us at 800-535-3226.

  8. ----> Installing the hardlock:
  9.  
  10. The network key should be installed on a machine that has access to
  11. your LAN. DO NOT install the hardlock on the server itself -- the
  12. hardlock is not designed to function in this manor.
  13.  
  14. Our recommendation is that the hardlock be installed on one of the
  15. following machines:
  16.  
  17.         1.) System administrators machine
  18.         2.) Supervisors machine
  19.          
  20.                -- or --

  22.         3.) The end user that has be tasked with keeping track of
  23.             this software.

  26. ----> Installing the HLSERVER software:
  27.  
  28. The HLSERVER software is what allows other users on your LAN to see the
  29. network hardlock serial number. This software must be running at all times,
  30. so it is recommended that you add the startup line to your AUTOEXEC.BAT
  31. file.

  33. You will find the HLSERVER software located in your CAM350 directory. It is
  34. in a self-extracting ZIP file and should be installed by using the following
  35. steps:
  36.  
  37.         1.) Create a directory on your system of the server software.
  38.                 ie: md c:\hlserver
  39.  
  40.         2.) Copy the NETKEY.EXE file into the directory you just created.
  41.                 ie: copy netkey.exe c:\hlserver
  42.  
  43.         3.) Now extract the HLSERVER software.
  44.                 ie: netkey
  45.  
  46. Once the files have been extracted you will need to add the following line
  47. to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file:
  48.  
  49.         4.) Add this line to your AUTOEXEC.BAT.
  50.                 ie: c:\...\hlserver -i -m:1645 -n:C350_FAM
  51.  
  52.             Make sure you insert the path that you choose to install the
  53.             software in to.
  54.  
  55.         5.) Now restart you computer.
  56.  
  57. When the computer restarts your network hardlock should now be broadcasting
  58. correctly.
  59.  
  60. The maximum number of users that will be able to access the software is 
  61. controlled by the hardlock itself, however you can limit it further by 
  62. running the HLSERVER program. In addition, if you would like to see how
  63. many users are currently logged into the software, change user timeouts, test
  64. the hardlock, etc. -- simple run the HLSERVER program and follow the on-line
  65. help.

  67. **** WARNING ****> Making changes with the HLSERVER program, by unqualified
  68. **** WARNING ***   persons, can cause your network license to not function
  69. **** WARNING **    correctly. Changes done through HLSERVER should only be
  70. **** WARNING *     performed by SYS ADMIN types, supervisors, etc...
