-- Installation of Network Hardlock for the CAM350 Family --
This short procedure will help guide you through the installation
of your CAM350 Family network version. If you have any questions
or problems during this install, please call us at 800-535-3226.
----> Installing the hardlock:
The network key should be installed on a machine that has access to
your LAN. DO NOT install the hardlock on the server itself -- the
hardlock is not designed to function in this manor.
Our recommendation is that the hardlock be installed on one of the
following machines:
1.) System administrators machine
2.) Supervisors machine
-- or --
3.) The end user that has be tasked with keeping track of
this software.
----> Installing the HLSERVER software:
The HLSERVER software is what allows other users on your LAN to see the
network hardlock serial number. This software must be running at all times,
so it is recommended that you add the startup line to your AUTOEXEC.BAT
file.
You will find the HLSERVER software located in your CAM350 directory. It is
in a self-extracting ZIP file and should be installed by using the following
steps:
1.) Create a directory on your system of the server software.
ie: md c:\hlserver
2.) Copy the NETKEY.EXE file into the directory you just created.
ie: copy netkey.exe c:\hlserver
3.) Now extract the HLSERVER software.
ie: netkey
Once the files have been extracted you will need to add the following line
to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file:
4.) Add this line to your AUTOEXEC.BAT.
ie: c:\...\hlserver -i -m:1645 -n:C350_FAM
Make sure you insert the path that you choose to install the
software in to.
5.) Now restart you computer.
When the computer restarts your network hardlock should now be broadcasting
correctly.
The maximum number of users that will be able to access the software is
controlled by the hardlock itself, however you can limit it further by
running the HLSERVER program. In addition, if you would like to see how
many users are currently logged into the software, change user timeouts, test
the hardlock, etc. -- simple run the HLSERVER program and follow the on-line
help.
**** WARNING ****> Making changes with the HLSERVER program, by unqualified
**** WARNING *** persons, can cause your network license to not function
**** WARNING ** correctly. Changes done through HLSERVER should only be
