  1. WELCOME TO THE LOTUS SMARTSUITE 97 CD-ROM
  2. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

  4. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
  5. - 486/DX2 running at 66Mhz or higher (Pentium processor recommended)
  6. - 8Mb RAM (16Mb recommended)
  7. - Windows 3.1x or Windows 95
  8. - 640x480 graphics card and display
  9. - 256 colours
  10. - Double-speed CD-ROM drive
  11. - Soundblaster compatible sound card and speakers (recommended)
  12. - 82Mb (minimum) to 220Mb (maximum) available hard disk space for
  13.   SmartSuite 97 installation - optional
  14.  
  15. TO RUN THIS PROGRAM:
  16. - Windows 3.1x:
  17.         - Close all open applications
  18.         - Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive
  19.         - Go to File and select Run
  20.         - Type D:\S_Suite.exe where 'D:' is your CD-ROM drive
  21.  
  22. - Windows 95:
  23.         - Close all open applications
  24.         - Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive
  25.         - The program will auto-run when inserted into your CD-ROM drive
  26.  
  27. INSTALLING SMARTSUITE 97 30-DAY TRIAL VERSION:
  28. - Windows 3.1x:
  29.         - SmartSuite 97 is only available for Windows 95 - it will not
  30.           work in Windows 3.1x! SmartSuite 4.5 is the latest version of
  31.           SmartSuite for Windows 3.1x - please contact your local reseller
  32.           for full product information.
  33.  
  34. - Windows 95:
  35.         - If you have a previous version of the application that you are
  36.           installing from the trial CD, you must specify a different
  37.           directory for the 30-day trial version. If you do not specify a
  38.           different directory, the install program will overwrite the
  39.           previous version of the application with the 30-day trial version.
  40.  
  41.         - If you have previously installed SmartSuite 96 and you do not want
  42.           to upgrade your SmartSuite 96 applications to the 30-day trial
  43.           version, you must specify a different main directory and different
  44.           product directories for the 30-day trial version. You can specify
  45.           the directories for the 30-day trial version of SmartSuite 97 from
  46.           the Install Program dialogue boxes. You can specify the main folder
  47.           in the Specify Lotus SmartSuite Folder dialogue box. You can specify
  48.           the product folders in the Select Lotus SmartSuite Applications
  49.           dialogue box.

  51.         - If you have previously installed a 16-bit version of SmartSuite, you
  52.           must not have the Install Program remove obsolete files. Choose 'No'
  53.           in the Obsolete Files dialogue box.

  55. UNINSTALLING SMARTSUITE 97 30-DAY TRIAL VERSION:
  56. You can uninstall the 30-day trial version of SmartSuite 97 by following these
  57. instructions:
  58.  
  59. - Windows 95:
  60.         - Choose Start - Settings - Control Panel from the Taskbar
  61.         - Double-click Add/Remove programs
  62.         - Select Lotus SmartSuite 97
  63.         - Choose Add/Remove
  64.         - Select the application/s to be removed
  65.         - Click OK
  66.  
  67. VIDEO FOR WINDOWS:
  68. This program uses Video for Windows. If you do not have the software installed on
  69. your PC, you may install it by following these instructions:
  70.  
  71. - Windows 3.1x:
  72.         - Close all open applications
  73.         - Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive
  74.         - Go to File and select Run
  75.         - Type D:\Vfw\Setup.exe where 'D:' is your CD-ROM drive
  76.  
  77. - Windows 95:
  78.         - Close all open applications
  79.         - Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive
  80.         - The program will auto-run when inserted into your CD-ROM drive
  81.         - Press the <Esc> key to exit
  82.         - Choose Start - Run from the Taskbar
  83.         - Type D:\Vfw\Setup.exe where 'D:' is your CD-ROM drive
  84.  
  85. ADOBE ACROBAT:
  86. This program uses Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0. If you do not have the software
  87. installed on your PC, you may either install it from within the program, or
  88. follow these instructions:

  90. - Windows 3.1x (strongly recommended):
  91.         - Close all open applications
  92.         - Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive
  93.         - Go to File and select Run
  94.         - Type D:\Acroread\16bit\Setup.exe where 'D:' is your CD-ROM drive
  95.  
  96. - Windows 95:
  97.         - Close all open applications
  98.         - Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive
  99.         - The program will auto-run when inserted into your CD-ROM drive
  100.         - Press the <Esc> key to exit
  101.         - Go to the Start menu and select Run
  102.         - Type D:\Acroread\32bit\Setup.exe where 'D:' is your CD-ROM drive

  104. LOTUS SCREENCAM 97:
  105. This program contains Lotus ScreenCam 97 movies.  The ScreenCam viewer software
  106. is included, but some of the ScreenCam movies are designed for playback at
  107. higher resolution or at more than 256 colours.  If this causes problems, reset
  108. your display to 800x600 resolution at 65,000 (16 bit) colour.
  109.  
  110. Lotus ScreenCam 97 is a Windows 95 application, and therefore the ScreenCam 97
  111. movies will not run under Windows 3.1x.
  112.  
  113. INTERNET FUNCTIONALITY:
  114. This program contains links to Lotus resources on the Internet. To use this
  115. function, you must have a modem, an Internet connection and appropriate browser
  116. software installed.

  118. CONTROL KEYS:
  119. To aid navigation through the program, we have included the following control keys:
  120. - Esc - Quit
  121. - Q   - Quit
  122. - <Ctrl> Q - Quit
  123. - <Ctrl> R - Restart program from Language Selection screen
