Another Comment Editor

Description:
Another Comment Editor is a 'Freeware' windowed description
editor for 4DOS. It runs independent of 4DOS and supports up to
the 200 character descriptions that 4DOS ver 5.0 supports.
Instructions:
Command line: there are no switches, just enter 'ace' to
start the program.
Navigation:
Mouse:
Double click on a file name brings up the edit box.
Scroll up and down using the scroll bars.
Exit by selecting 'Exit' from the 'File' pull down
menu or by clicking on 'Alt-X Exit' on the
status line.
Change directory by selecting 'Change Dir' from the
'File' pull down menu.
Keyboard:
To get to the menu bar use the F10 key and then
use the arrow key to highlight the pull down
menus and make your selection.
<Pg Up> <Pg Dn> <Up> <Down> : scroll up and down.
<Space> : brings up the edit box.
Pull Down Menu:
Activate pull down menu by using the <alt> key and the
highlighted letter of menu title; to activate the system
menu '≡' press the key combination <alt> + <space>
Menu function descriptions:
≡ - System Menu
About - displays the credits and version number
Register - information on registering ACE
Bug - bug reporting policy
File - File Menu
Change dir... - change the current directory
DOS shell - temporarily leave ACE
Exit - quit from the ACE program
Options - Options Menu
Mouse... - set mouse options ( speed of double clicking
and reversing mouse buttons )
Colors... - change the colors of the display
Note: Mouse and Color options can not be saved.
A future version will enable saving these options.
Edit Box:
<Tab> : moves to the next field.
<Shift+Tab> : moves to the previous field.
<Enter> : accepts changes when 'Ok' is highlighted.
rejects changes when 'Cancel' is highlighted.
With mouse: click on 'Ok' or 'Cancel' to accept or reject
changes.
Mono and Black & White monitor operation:
This program automatically detects monitor mode setting the
colors as appropriate. For users who's system is normally
set to color operation on a Mono or Black & White use the
DOS command to set the display mode for ACE.
examples:
for a monochrome monitor try the following commands:
C:\>mode mono
C:\>ace
C:\>mode co80 ( or the display mode normally used )
for a Black & White monitor or LCD screen:
C:\>mode bw80
C:\>ace
C:\>mode co80 ( or appropriate display mode )
Notes:
Display modes bw40 and co40 are not supported, ACE will
default to the co80 display mode.
