  19. ------------
  20. WindowControl allows the user to manipulate desktop
  21. windows as their leisure. You can manually hide, move,
  22. resize or rename any program window. One of the most
  23. powerful things about WindowControl is that you can
  24. set it up to do these things automatically. Read the
  25. help files to find out how to do this.

  27. Once you start using WindowControl, I am sure that
  28. you will find it far more powerful and useful than
  29. any other program of this type. That is why it was
  30. created. Plenty programs exist to hide windows, or 
  31. to minimise windows, etc, but none have all the 
  32. features built into the one easy to use program. 
  33. WindowControl also has many useful features that
  34. I've not seen in any other programs.

  50. Version 1.45
  51. * Fuzzy titles. Can control windows with incomplete titles.
  52. * When AutoPlacing entries before in 'Normal' state, you had
  53. to specify a value for these entries. This meant the entry 
  54. always moved and sized. Now you can specify a blank value,
  55. and that attribute of the window will not be altered.

  58. * Streamlined the code to make the program faster.
  59. * UNDO. You can now undo hide, rename, minimise, maximise
  60. and restoring windows.
  61. * You can now hide all windows as well as minimising all
  62. windows. With the preferences dialog, you can set certain

  95. * No longer able to rename a window to be blank.
  96. * Fixed default size to 1280*1024, was 1200*1024 by mistake.

  107. being topped. Now a window is only topped when it is first found.

  110. is neater and faster).

  112. now they are centred.

  128. Installation & Uninstalling
  129. ---------------------------
  130. There is no special procedure to follow. Just place
  131. the program into any directory of your choice. It is
  132. probably best to place WindowControl into your startup
  133. so that it is always running when you start windows so
  134. that whatever programs you run will always be placed where
  135. you want them.

  137. This program requires the Visual Basic 3 runtime files 
  138. to work. These are probably already on your computer.
  139. If not, you'll need VBRUN300.DLL for the program to work.
  140.  
  141. To uninstall WindowControl, just remove WINDOW.EXE and 
  142. WINDOWH.INI which will be in your WINDOWS directory.

  156. System Requirements
  157. -------------------
  158. WindowControl will work with any version of Windows 3.1 or greater, 
  159. including Windows 95 or Windows NT.

  162. Registration
  163. ------------
  164. WindowControl is distributed as a shareware program. This 
  165. means that you are free to try it out for 30 days. It will 
  166. be fully functional during that time, but if you continue to
  167. use the program after that time, i would appreciate it if you
  168. paid for it.

  170. For your ú10/$15 you will be informed of future updates to 
  171. WindowControl, and I will email you a personalised copy of the
  172. program without the "Shareware Version" on the about box.
  173. All future updates upto version 2 will be free to all registered 
  174. users, and after that new versions will be available at a reduced
  175. cost to registered users.

  178. address.
